My favourite Audible feature is a clever technology known as Whispersync For Voice.
Here’s how this works:
I use Audible for listening to audiobooks while out for a walk or run using the iPhone app.
Later that night when I pick up my Kindle Oasis, it automatically finds my place in the book in question so I can continue reading.
Then, the next morning when I open Audible before my commute, it resumes narrating from where I stopped reading on my Kindle Fire the night before. I love Audible for this seemingly simple, yet awesome feature.
There are a few caveats.
Firstly, the book must be available on Kindle and Audible.
Secondly, I have to buy both versions to use Whispersync.
Thirdly, both your Amazon account and Audible account must be in the same region e.g. Whispersync won’t work if you buy a book off the UK Amazon store and an audiobook off the US Audible store.

Audible announced Wednesday that users will now be able to share their audiobooks with anyone.
The company announced that subscribers to the Amazon-owned audiobook company will be able to send an unlimited number of audiobooks to others with a tool called “Send a Book.” The feature will allow people to send a full copy of an audiobook to a person of their choice for free. Any individual recipient will be able to redeem one full title for free with an Amazon ID after that, they will be asked to sign up for an Audible free trial.
The feature is somewhat of an anomaly in the new media world, where users often have access to songs, movies or books but often cant send an actual file to friends as one could lend a CD, DVD or physical book. Audible users, however, buy each title in their library, either with regular credits that come with subscriptions of at least $15 per month or by paying for them outright.
Its always been somewhat distinct in that, from the beginning, subscribers have always been the owner of these titles, said Donald Katz, Audibles chief executive and founder.
Katz said that he hopes the ability to send books for free will raise further awareness of audiobooks, particularly to those who may not have ever purchased or even listened to an audiobook before.
The firm also started a beta program in April called Channels, which offers participating subscribers the option to listen to free, unlimited short-form audio similar to podcasts.
