How Hard Inquiries Impact Credit Score

Multiple hard inquiries may add up to numerous new accounts. Opening such accounts may mean you’re having trouble paying bills or are at risk of overspending. As a result, hard inquiries have a negative effect. Credit scoring models do consider the possibility that you’re rate shopping for the best loan deal available. Each hard inquiry projects you as a credit hungry consumer, thereby lowering your credit score. Such consumers are often viewed as risky by lenders, which either makes lenders reject your credit application or approve it at a higher interest rate.

Why Take A Bitcoin Loan

Many Bitcoin investors are here for the long term, and they believe in slowly accumulating as many bitcoins as possible.

But despite their long-term vision, these investors also need liquidity for various other needs such as for vacation, repayment of a loan, or to buy a car, etc.

In such cases, if they sell their bitcoins, they will lose their competitive advantage of holding BTC for the long term !!

Enter Bitcoin loans to resolve this

Bitcoin loans resolve this dilemma of BTC holders who want liquidity without selling their BTC positions. Thats why it makes more sense for BTC investors to borrow extra cash for their BTC holdings instead of selling them outright.

Moreover, Bitcoin and cryptocurrency lending of other digital currency will become more than obvious in the coming days because financial usecases such as lending, borrowing, insurance, savings accounts like the normal bank account, etc., make more sense if done through blockchain-based cryptocurrencies.

Lastly, you get BTC loans in your Bitcoin wallet, which you control, whereas, in traditional lending, you get your loan amount in your bank account, which the bank controls.

You Ask Bev Answers: Why Do Credit Scores Look Different To Consumers Than Lenders

You dont have to worry or wait longer to find a lender ...

Reading time: 3 minutes

In a time of great uncertainty, a voice of knowledge and reassurance can make all the difference. Beverly Anderson, President of Global Consumer Solutions at Equifax, answers your questions based on her years of experience in the consumer finance industry. You can post a question for Bev on Equifax’s Facebook page. Bev regrets that she cannot answer every question individually.

Question: Why are credit scores different when they are pulled by consumers vs. when they’re pulled by lenders?

Answer: There are a few reasons that the you see when you check on your own may vary from what a lender sees when evaluating you for a credit account. However, it’s important to understand that these discrepancies don’t necessarily mean that either set of scores is inaccurate.

It’s a common misconception that every individual has a single, unique credit score that represents their level of risk when applying for new accounts. In reality, there’s no limit on the number of credit scores that may accurately reflect your financial information and payment history. This is because individual consumer reporting agencies, credit scoring companies, lenders and creditors may use slightly different formulas to calculate your credit scores. They might also weigh your information differently depending on the type of credit account for which you’ve applied.

What Are Other Ways To Improve Your Credit Score

You can build healthy credit over time by starting with these steps:

  • Make on-time payments. This is one of the most important factors that impacts your credit scores. If you think you cant afford a payment, reach out to the lender right away. It may be willing to work out a payment plan and keep your account in good standing.
  • Check your credit reports. This will help you understand and track your overall financial health. Also look for errors, such as incorrect credit card balances, trade lines that arent yours and accounts that are incorrectly marked as delinquent.
  • Dispute and fix errors. About 20 percent of consumers have an error on at least one credit report, according to a Federal Trade Commission study. Getting an error removed may help your credit score improve.
  • Consider a debt consolidation loan. A debt consolidation loan unites all your debts into a single balance, often at a lower interest rate that can save you money. A debt consolidation calculator can help you evaluate whether this type of loan is right for you, as debt consolidation can temporarily hurt your credit.

What Is A Personal Loan

With a personal loan, you borrow a fixed amount of money and agree to pay it back over a period of time. You must pay back the full amount, interest and any applicable fees. You do this by making regular payments, called instalments. Personal loans are also called long-term financing plans, instalment loans and consumer loans.

Personal loans are typically used for specific purchases such as home renovations, furniture and cars or to consolidate other debts with higher interest rates. Most personal loans range from $100 to $50,000 with a term between 6 and 60 months.

Personal loans are available from traditional lenders, such as banks and credit unions, as well as alternative lenders such as payday lenders, title loan companies, private lenders and pawn shops.

Many business owners make the mistake of applying for a small business loan prior to paying off their outstanding loans and other business debts, such as their credit card balance.

Although the need for additional financing is understandable, applying for another loan can hurt your credit in many cases. This is because youll have another debt to be responsible for, which can be very challenging for business owners. In addition to your debts, youll also need to maintain your business, which probably includes rent payments, inventory orders, payroll, and other ongoing costs.

Understandably, lenders dont want to take on clients that have outstanding debt, because they likely wont be able to repay their balance in their set loan term. Due to this, you might not qualify if you have a loan balance that you still need to finish paying.
